Upcoming Reviews and Upcoming Travel – What’s Next in Store?

While most airline bloggers that I know like to leave the reviewing process to themselves, I’m pretty transparent with everything I know that I owe you guys – mostly because I have nothing else to post, but also because I’m “committed” to whatever I say I’m going to be posting. I know that I’m one of the slowest posters in the entire airline blogosphere, but I’m working on trying to get everything out during my work time.

It’s always a blessing to know that you fly more than you post

I’d like to quickly run through all the products that I’ve yet to review, which I owe you in the next few weeks. Most of them will be part of the big Swiss and Lufthansa trip report that I’m writing up right now, but there will be a couple of other additions that I haven’t mentioned much.

I’d also like to run through the products that I’m expecting to write about in the next few months. I’ve run through them before, but this is finalised and not exactly the same as I’d once promised…

Overdue Flight Reviews

Lufthansa A321 Business Class Geneva to Frankfurt

I’d like to run through my intra-European experience on Lufthansa, as this was my first taste of them. This was an interesting flight as well, and I’d like to talk about it – this report will definitely be out by tomorrow night at the latest.

I’m still trying to get through the massive trip report I’m writing right now, and if everything goes according to the schedule that I’ve created (I won’t be posting on Sunday since I have something important due on Monday), I’ll get the actual flight report out by next Friday. I’m excited to review another longhaul product, since I definitely had a good flight on Lufthansa.

The fun thing is that I’m reviewing two of Lufthansa’s flagship business class lounges at Frankfurt, which also seem to be their nicest. These reports will also be out by next week.

Cathay Pacific 777 Economy Class Hong Kong to Jakarta

While I’ve reviewed Cathay Pacific’s A330 economy class quite a few times, this was the first time I’d flown economy class on a Cathay Pacific 777. You all know that Cathay Pacific has one of my favourite economy products, but I figured it would be time for a revisit. While I really enjoyed the flight back, I won’t be reviewing it, as I didn’t manage to get great pictures and don’t really want to bore you out with another Cathay Pacific A330 economy review.

Upcoming Flight Reviews

Singapore Airlines A380 Premium Economy Hong Kong to Singapore

I’ve talked about this quite a bit so I won’t beat around the bush, but I’m really excited to be flying Singapore Airlines after seven years of not flying them.

Singapore Airlines 777 Premium Economy Singapore to Hong Kong

I’m also excited to fly Singapore Airlines’ 777 premium economy and possibly grab some pictures of their new business class and economy products on the way back from Singapore to Hong Kong.

Virgin Atlantic 787 Premium Economy Hong Kong to London to Hong Kong

Here’s where it gets interesting. I originally wanted to fly British Airways, but right on the day we booked, the price surged from HK$14,000 to HK$21,000, which was too much. Other options had also increased substantially and I was left with a choice between a Cathay Pacific mixed-cabin (business and economy) fare and a Virgin Atlantic premium economy fare. While I thought that Cathay Pacific might’ve given a more interesting review as I wanted to share my take on their longhaul premium economy as well, I decided to give that up for Star Gold status (KrisFlyer partners with Virgin Atlantic), so I will be reviewing Virgin Atlantic again. I will try my best to buy my way into the Clubhouse, though, now that I’m 16.

Qatar Airways 787 Business Class Hong Kong to Doha to Hong Kong

I’ve long been excited about this one. I’m flying Qatar Airways’ 787 from Hong Kong to Doha, which will feature the reverse herringbone seats that I’ve long heard are excellent. I managed to snag a pretty cheap fare, so I’m proud.

LATAM/Qatar Airways A350 Business Class Doha to Munich to Doha

Qatar Airways leased A350s from LATAM which will be flying me from Doha to Munich and back. I can’t wait to try LATAM’s product, and while LATAM’s A350 product is inferior to Qatar’s A350 product that I initially booked, I’m happy I get to cross another product off my list.

I’m still happy I get to try out Qatar’s lounge in Doha, though.

While this is still on the cards, we’re thinking of flying Singapore Airlines to Christchurch in February 2018. I’ve grabbed a decent fare since it’s pretty early, and we might just be flying Singapore Airlines business class. I can’t wait!

Overdue Hotel Reviews

The Beas River Chalet Hong Kong

While I’ve reviewed the Beas River Chalet a couple of times, I’ve decided to revisit the property this year, and will be talking about my stay. I made the stay in January, so I’ll just throw in the review sometime after next Friday.

Atria Hotel Gading Serpong Jakarta

The hotel I stayed in at Jakarta, the Hotel Atria, was a very solid option for business travelers not tied to a hotel chain. I loved the hotel, and would love to share my experience staying there. It’s the first hotel booked by my school that I’d return to in a heartbeat under my own expense.

The Westin Singapore

I’m excited to stay at The Westin Singapore. Right now we have an executive suite and a separate deluxe room booked, so we haven’t quite figured out which one I’ll be staying in yet (yet as the younger man of the family, I think it’s pretty clear). It looks like it would be hands down the best option to stay in, though I still have to see for myself.

Bottom Line

I can’t wait for all this flying, hotel staying and reviewing, and am definitely more than happy to report back on my travels. I only do one of these updates once a year unless I’m really behind on reporting. I’ll try to roll out my reports as quickly as possible albeit all the work that I need to do, so stay tuned!
