How To Get To Athens In Business Class?

In Zermatt, Switzerland, we met a really adorable Greek couple that looked after us during our stay, particularly the husband, who had worked in multiple restaurants and taught me a whole bunch of new skills during my stay in Zermatt. They welcomed us to go to Greece sometime, so we’re thinking of doing that summer next year.

And as far as the airline hubs go, it’s pretty obvious where the major one is – Athens. That’s where all the major airlines fly to, but here’s the catch – my mom can’t stand connections of more than four hours, so we have to choose the best flights for ourselves.

So, here are the options I found in business class:

1. Qatar Airways 787/A330/A320 business class for HK$29,000/person

Qatar’s one of the airlines Jason hates I’ve wanted to try for a long time, and this may be the time to pounce. I’ll get to try their product on the 787 from Hong Kong to Doha and back, and will be flying to Athens on an A330 and back on an A320. Then again, Qatar’s not something my mom is really keen on, but it’s definitely the most aspirational of all the choices out here.

2. KLM/Air France 747/A380 business class for HK$27,329/person

If Qatar isn’t really my mom’s favourite, we can always go with KLM and Air France, which would allow me to try both their Eurobusiness and long haul business products in one go. Unfortunately, Air France has angled lie flat beds from Paris to Hong Kong, so is it really worth saving the HK$2,000?

3. Aeroflot 777 business class for HK$19,955/person

If my mom really needs to fly a European airline on a fully flat bed, this fits all the requirements…

Which one should I go for?

Should I go for Qatar, Air France/KLM, Aeroflot or some other combination altogether?
