We visited Lotte World in the morning, and took a cab to Seoul Incheon Airport, arriving at around 4:30PM, roughly three hours before our flight.

The airport concourse is much like Fukuoka Airport, and is grand, airy, and on the bland side.

We quickly found the Korean Air check-in, and headed over to the Prestige Class line, where there was a sizeable line waiting.

We were escorted to Duty Free, and then we started the long line towards immigration. I was looking to get some work done, so headed straight to the Korean Air lounge, which was located right past immigration.

From there it was an escalator ride straight up.

I then headed to the reception, where I was greeted, and promptly admitted. I asked which side the lounge was, in which she replied “both sides”.

Near the entrance was a Korean Air model A380. Thanks for telling me what I missed out on, Korean Air! (For those who don’t know, my flight, KE 607, used to be operated by an A380, but Korean swapped it out for a 747 after they needed an A380 for their second daily New York service.)

The flight information was located there.

I then went to the “charging station” in hopes of getting my phone charged, but while I found lockers, I couldn’t find any phone chargers.

The lounge was ginormous, but I can’t say that it didn’t feel private. The left side of the lounge featured a food bar, some pod seating, some seating facing the tarmac, some seating facing away from the tarmac and bar seating facing the tarmac.

As it was bright outside and rather dark inside, I apologise for the picture quality.

Then there was some dining room seating.

Then there was a bathroom reserved for women only (though I didn’t have access, I hope understandably).

I settled in one of the pod seats facing a Korean Air A380. At least the seating was really damn comfortable.

At these pod seats there were universal power ports, which were a joy (especially with 31% to go and the fact that I wasn’t sure if there were power ports on the plane).

Speaking of the A380, it just made me five times more jealous than I would’ve been had I not been staring at it half the time instead of doing work like I was supposed to.

In front of me was a Korean Air 737, which I watched push back.

Not only did the lounge have tarmac views of Korean Air heavies, they also had views of the runway, which always, ALWAYS makes me excited.

After the 737 pushed back, I checked out the food spread. There was an extensive variety of both cold food and hot food, it just wasn’t very good, unfortunately.

Then there was the other side of the lounge, which was identically big and featured bar seating, and table seating. Holy sh…

Then there was a business center, which was the same thing – bar seating and…more seating.

Then there was an identical food spread.

This side of the lounge faced the gates directly – in this case, at a 777, two 747s and another A380. I’m so f*cking jealous of Hong Kong not having nearly enough A380s…

IMG_3060

I sat down with some fried rice and pumpkin soup at my pod seat, watched the Korean Air A380 push off, then worked until boarding.

I visited the toilets, which were clean but not especially nice.

IMG_3031

I didn’t need the shower rooms, and you need to ask the reception for a key to use them, so I passed that. I reckon they weren’t any less nasty than the toilets, though I’m not so sure.

I left the lounge at 7:15 and headed to the gate, as I wanted to be one of the first onboard and take cabin pictures of my broken A330 streak.

IMG_3066

Seoul Incheon Airport Gate Area

Our flight was waiting for us at gate 24, about a five minute walk from the lounge. A Boeing 747! Finally! On the upper deck! Ahhh!

IMG_3067

Boarding began at 7:20, when I was fourth onboard.

Bottom line on Korean Air Prestige Lounge Seoul Incheon

The lounge, sure, was a little drab, and I wouldn’t say it’s an amazing ground experience, really. But it definitely was a nice place to hang out, watch some A380s and get some work done, and I’d definitely be stopping by given the chance.

I mean, it’s definitely better than the other Prestige Lounge at Seoul Incheon’s satellite terminal.
